After all that time, you would be right in thinking his retirement was marked with a flurry of gifts and well wishes. But those gifts weren’t all for Dave as he made the decision to celebrate his retirement with a party and ask for donations to support Flint House Police Rehabilitation instead.
Both Dave and his wife, Annie, have been supporters of our charity throughout their careers in the police service and have benefitted from our rehabilitation programmes to help with injuries and illness during that time. They have seen many changes over the years and have built up relationships with staff members and volunteers alike. Their support has not just been through regular donations and raising awareness, they have both also been involved with the Brookfields School, with Annie being instrumental in arranging the first work experience programme for their students at Flint House approximately 8 years ago – a regular programme that is still in place today.
Dave and Annie were thrilled to visit Flint House today to meet with Ian Barron, Clinical Director and Ian Lillistone, Chief Finance Officer to present us with a cheque for £650. An amazing donation from them, their friends, family and colleagues that will go towards supporting other members of the police service to receive care in the future.
