“We all have mental health and it is as important as our physical health. When our mental health is good, we feel emotionally well, able to look after ourselves and able to engage with the things that we care about. When we struggle with our mental health, we can feel overwhelmed and unable to cope, which can make it difficult to manage in our daily lives.”

Mental Health Foundation

A 2018 survey by the Mental Health Foundation found that almost three quarters (74%) of people have at some point felt so stressed they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope.

It’s ok to ask for help. Our Mental Health team (staffed by experienced Mental Health Practitioners) are here to support you with whatever challenges you are facing, however big or small.

Encapsulated by nature, the grounds of Flint House are not just beautiful, but beneficial to mental health and wellbeing. During your stay the Mental Health team will facilitate a low intensity group work programme for common mental health conditions – such as anxiety, depression and stress. The programme aims to include self-awareness of thinking styles, current coping mechanisms and behaviours which may impact on an ability to function on a day-to day-basis. Our programme provides the opportunity for those signed up to explore alternative ways of coping with support from others in the group. Within the group programme there is the opportunity to meet individually with a mental health practitioner.

 Our charity’s values:

  • Putting people at the heart of what we do.
  • Providing care, support and compassion.
  • Acting with integrity and treating people with respect.
