New year, new challenge? Yeah, yeah you’ve been there, done that, bought the overpriced juicer… but what if this year you really did challenge yourself?

A half marathon is a brilliant place to start for anyone who wants to take on an endurance challenge. Throughout 2022, up and down the UK, there are various Half Marathons taking place, check out the JustGiving event calendar for Half Marathons here.

Now, just imagine you could challenge yourself AND raise money for a charity which helps not just you, but your colleagues too. Wouldn’t THAT be ace?

We’re encouraging police officers to take part in a Half Marathon in 2022. If you can run 10k, you can run a half. It can take about 12 weeks to train for a half, and training is usually required three days a week. On average we estimate, beginner males, finish half marathons between 2:05 to 2:15. On the other hand on average, beginner females clock in between 2:20 and 2:30.

If you’re reading this and thinking ‘I reckon I could do that’ then don’t procrastinate, either get signed up on a scheduled event – like the Great North Run – or get some friends together and plan your own 13.1 mile run. Most importantly, don’t forget to ask people to sponsor you. Create a fundraising page on JustGiving:
