Flint House was visited by the 2012 Olympic Torch on July 11th.

Thanks to the efforts of the Police escort detail of the Olympic Torch relay around Great Britain, the Torch paid a visit "in person" to the Centre on Wednesday, much to the delight of staff and residents alike. An impromtu photo session ensued, with the torch being passed to staff and patients alike in a virtual relay race.

The weather held up for the visit, (does the sun shine on the righteous?), and the overwhelming feeling was one of realising the Olympic games were here in the UK and happening. A member of Flint House staff stated "my wife had got up at 6.00am on Tuesday to see the Torch relay pass through her village in the pouring rain, yet here am I, in the sunshine, with the torch in my hands, something I never thought could happen, I think she may be a bit miffed when she sees my picture"!
